This week's Illustration Friday theme was just too good to pass up. Maybe deep down I'm missing my old textile design job - I had so much fun making these Cath Kidston-ey pillow patterns today. I'm hoping that this sudden burst of inspiration marks the end of a very long creative slump. Yeah!

This took me one day to draw and then two days to colour in Photoshop. My mouse-click hand is in agony!

I started this painting over two years ago and was never able to finish it. I was always either busy, or uninspired, or lazy. It's been standing in my house, unfinished, for all that time. Here's a photo from May 2006:



At some point I painted in the backround, but soon gave up again.

Well, now I've conquered!

This is the first painting I've done in years. It's a semi-selfportrait (yes that's my new red coat!), and I'm celebrating the fact that I finally quit my job and am now officially a freelancer / lady of leisure.
